How to hold space and presence as a yogi in the midst of the uncomfortable conversations regarding Racism.
This course is open to everyone in the yogic community to have a deeper insight in supporting a welcoming and truly inclusive yogic community. This training is designed to provide an introductory and deep look into the systems of Racism. Also for its intersection in the wellness and yoga businesses.
This course will take place in two weekends, to be the first of three modules. In this first module we will explore how systems of racism exist and persist. The course will feature in depth lectures, discussions, group exercises, yoga & meditation. Also this course features Systemic Constellations - a therapeutic modality to explore and acknowledge the systemic patterning behind racism and prejudice that unknowingly affect our thoughts, actions, and experience. This course is open to anyone that has the physical and mental bandwidth to engage in deep work of personal confrontation & revolution. Beyond that, this training is open to all.

DR. VIBHUTI ARYA
Dr. Vibhuti Arya, PharmD, MPH, has worked for the past 15 years to bridge the gap between healthcare, well-being, and equity. Dr. Arya serves as an Associate Clinical Professor at St. John's University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and serves as Clinical Advisor to the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. In her role, she works to integrate pharmacists into public health initiatives, particularly among high-risk, medically underserved areas in NYC, and advises on legislation pertinent to pharmacy practice and access to care.
Dr. Arya engages her students to examine public health programs and policies through the lens of equity, applying social justice principles and frameworks to help reduce inequities in care. She completed the Pharmaceutical Care Leadership Residency at the University of Minnesota, and her MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is a yogi who brings together her backgrounds in social justice, theatre, and mindfulness to create brave spaces for to serve people and systems intentionally work towards dismantling structural racism.
To this training Dr. Arya brings her years of experience as a professor and activist in the work of Anti-Racism. She is available for private consults for participants or businesses that need additional help processing the wealth of information in Anti-Racism work, Intersectionality and Inclusion.
AMANBIR
Amanbir is a licensed acupuncturist and yoga therapist with over 15 years experience of teaching Kundalini Yoga. He has worked privately assisting people across the globe to master their own health through the complement of Taoist Medicine, Herbs, and Yoga Therapeutic tools. He has created curriculum and taught in several Kundalini Yoga, Hatha, and Yoga Therapy trainings around the world. He brings his sense of humor, uplifting music, and extensive knowledge of the healing field into every class.
Amanbir holds a Bachelors of Science in Engineering from the Cooper Union. Also a Masters of Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Pacific College of Health and Science. He is currently a Professional Teacher Trainer recognized by the Kundalini Research Institute. He currently serves on the board of Free Food Kitchen Revolutionary Yoga NPC raising capital and serving food to communities in extreme need in South Africa.
To this training Amanbir brings the wealth of his experience as a Black cis-gendered Queer Man and that interface within various Yogic communities. He will hold space as a facilitator, drawing upon his experience as a trainer and health care facilitator. He will be available for private consults for participants needing virtual yoga therapy in their process of unpacking this deeply transformational work.
ABHAIJOT
Abhaijot has always had a deep passion for yoga and started practicing over 20 years ago. She is a NYC yogini, humanitarian, healer and wisdom keeper of the Aquarian age consciousness, whose intentions are to keep sacred traditions alive. Powered by inclusiveness she teaches worldwide the teachings of Kundalini in schools, prisons, retreats, teacher trainings, and corporate wellness. The union of the mind, body, and soul has helped her throughout her life to live in a more compassionate heart filled abundant way. She is a Kundalini Yoga teacher and has taught and helped to facilitate Kundalini Yoga teacher trainings worldwide. Abhaijot is presently in advanced training of Kundalini Yoga Therapy with Guru Dharam Kundalini Yoga Medicine.
Abhaijot’s focus has been on building up LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) Communities through the powerful tools of meditation, yoga, and encouraging leadership. She hosts BIPOC Kundalini Yoga experiences and serves as an activist raising funds for various charities supporting marginalized communities. She is currently working to build and lead the first BIPOC yoga teacher training with a focus on supporting future leaders of working class communities.
In this training Abhaijot offers her enthusiasm and experience holding space and addressing needs of BIPOC that come up in the larger white yoga community. She is available for private consultations, yoga, and energetic healing for participants that want to recharge.
DR. UNDINE WHANDE
Dr. Undine Whande has worked as a practitioner and scholar in conflict transformation and social change since 1995. Born in Germany she has lived and worked continuously in the SADC region since the mid-nineties. She holds a PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Cape Town.
In the often very challenging context of political and social transition in post-1994 South Africa, Dr. Whande developed her expertise as a conflict mediator, coach and facilitator in social change processes. She worked closely with the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission process and with various civil society organisations and approaches during the time and served as the Senior Specialist for Conflict Transformation and Organisational Learning for the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR) from 2010-2013.
Dr. Whande also was part of the foundational phase of the Healing of the Memories process in South Africa and continues to work with transitional justice processes and organisations on the African continent and globally. In her current work as a leadership coach, she accompanies individuals and organisations that seek to evolve the potential for healing and development out of experiences of diversity, conflict and crisis. Her approach is strongly rooted in principles of respect, recognition and valuing each individual biography and life journey. Undine is also a kundalini yoga teacher and weaves the insights and wisdom she receives in her yogic practice into all her work. She currently resides in Cape Town, South Africa with her three children.
In this training Dr. Whande offers her wealth of experience in mediation and facilitating systemic constellations in interpersonal conflict regarding the work of confronting Racism. She is available for private consultations of systemic/family constellations for participants willing to go deeper in the work.
