Transition: Kundalini For Vata Season a 6 Week Series

  • Anima Mundi Apothecary 35 Noble Street Brooklyn, NY, 11222 United States (map)

As we enter into the Fall the element Air and prana (the vital breath & the subtle essence) is abundant in the atmosphere. Fall is dry, rough, windy, erratic, cool, subtle, and clear. Ayurveda the sister science of Yoga Autumn is considered a vata season. During this 6 week series with Abhaijot Kaur, KRI we will learn how to live within the laws and rhythms of nature. What we see happening around us in our environment is also happening inside our minds and bodies. Vata represents the elements of air and space, and is characterized by irregularity, motion, and restlessness - just as the Fall breeze and in our bodes. When the air element is out of balance it accumulates in the body and mind, and may manifest as physical or emotional disorders, including insomnia, dry skin, arthritis, constipation, high blood pressure, anxiety, and depression. How can we transition into the Vata season with ease? Through deep nourishment, grounding and a regular routine, this is a season to be one of intention and balance, rather than anxiety and stress. During this 6 week session we will use the tools of Kundalini Yoga as Taught by Yogi Bhajan to nourish ourselves and create a daily balancing routine that nourishes our mind, body, and spirit, Plant Herbals for the season from Anima Mundi Apothecary. Through this transition into the darker days you will find yourself feeling more energized and centered in the months to come.
